Getting a car loan in Vancouver after a divorce can be a tricky task. A couple’s negative credit history and strained finances could be the reason for a divorce.  When a couple is married, it is much simpler to get a car loan since both of the salaries are combined, or one could co-sign for the other. After a divorce, it may be more difficult to get a car loan in North Vancouver. With careful planning, it is possible to bounce back from a divorce and get a car loan, and possible begin to raise a low credit rating.

Part of getting divorced means starting over. A new start often involves getting and buying possessions that you may have lost in the divorce. One of these necessary things is a car. A lot of times the family car is sold in a divorce in order to split all property that the couple jointly owned. Getting a car loan can be difficult after a divorce, especially when one of the spouses relied on the other for their income. A co-signer will come in very handy after a divorce. If you don’t have anyone to co-sign for your car loan, it may be hard to secure a loan from a bank. Most of the time, banks require a stable and high income and good credit rating. If you do not have good credit due to debt that was written off during the divorce, it makes more sense to attempt to get a car loan from a smaller dealership or loan company.

The circumstances of the divorce and both spouses’ financial situations are factors that lenders consider when determining one’s eligibility for a car loan. Unfortunately, the debt of your spouse became your own debt during the marriage. Now that the marriage is over, the debt still exists under both of the parties’ credit reports. There are car loan lenders that specialize in helping newly divorced people that may not have good credit ratings, but are employed and in need of reliable transportation. They understand that a divorce can put someone in a negative financial situation, and they will work with you to get the best car loan at the lowest interest rate possible.

When a divorce has forced someone’s credit rating to plummet and they need a car loan in Richmond, an important thing they can do is to figure out how much they can afford for a car payment. This is the first step when attempting to get a car loan after a divorce. One should be sure to pick an affordable and fuel-efficient vehicle. The possible maintenance costs and insurance prices should also be considered.  The key is to choose a vehicle that is affordable while going through a difficult time such as a divorce. One should also save enough money to put a down a decent down payment. The bigger the down payment, the lower the monthly payments will be to pay back the car loan in Vancouver.

Other customers with bad credit have made one or more financial decisions that have resulted in bad credit. However, no matter what your reason is for having bad credit, we’re delighted to let you know that having bad credit does not mean you can’t get a car loan. Complete the credit application

Whether you have perfect credit or bad credit, you’ll still have to complete the credit application in order to ensure that you are able to get a car loan in Vancouver. We have the credit application available online so that you can get started from the comfort of your home. When you complete the credit application, our lenders will be able to learn more about you financial history, spending habits, debts, and more. Based on this credit application, we’ll develop a loan program that is uniquely suited for your needs so that you can afford to buy your car and actually repay your loan each month!

Look for deals and savings opportunities

Buying a car with a car loan is not the only way to afford to buy a car; you can also buy your car through a special program, which may be going on now, or by using a trade-in. There are plenty of ways to save even more money when you buy your car; contact us for tips and advice on getting started!

Obviously vehicle tires serve an important purpose. Without them, a vehicle wouldn’t be able to move. It’s important to pay careful attention to your tires. They aren’t meant to last forever and will eventually begin to lose performance ability. As tires age and the tread on them wears down they become less safe. Tire failure can lead to serious accidents, so it’s important to know when it’s time to replace them.

The tread on the tire improves traction, especially on wet roads. As the tread begins to wear the tire isn’t as safe. A good rule of thumb is that if it’s down to 1/16 of an inch it’s time to replace the tires. In fact, in some states it is a legal requirement that tires have proper tread above 1/16 of an inch. There are a few ways to determine that the tire is worn. Perhaps the most popular way is the “penny test”. Simply put a penny upside down in the center of the tread. The tire is still good as long as you can’t see the top of the head. If you can see the head, the tires should be replaced.

Of course, this isn’t an exact science and this test has been criticized for not being 100% accurate. A more accurate way to check is to use a tire tread gauge. These can be bought at any auto store for a few dollars. You can also check the tread wear indicator on the tire. The tread wear indicator is located in the groove of the tread. If it is even, or almost even, with the tread around it, it means that the tire is worn. It’s no longer safe and should be replaced immediately.

You can also just use common sense when determining that a tire should be replaced. Regularly check out your tires to see how they look. Keep an eye out for any deep cracks or bubbles. Check the wear on all of the tires. If the wear is uneven on the front it could mean that there is an alignment issue. Make sure that tires stay properly inflated. If you notice that they don’t maintain correct tire pressure and lose air quickly, there is a problem with the tire.

Check your owner’s manual, but typically 6 years is a good amount of time to be using the same tires. It depends on your driving style, but 10 years should be the absolute maximum for using the same tires. A tire begins aging as soon as it is manufactured, not from its use date, because tires can deteriorate even if they are just sitting in a store. Tires can also age faster in warmer climates. When in doubt, have a trusted mechanic take a look at the tires when you have routine maintenance work done and get a professional opinion on the wear and tread.

When the time comes to get a new, or at least new to you, car there are things that should go into the decision making. Your needs may have changed since the last time you purchased a car. Have you gotten married since you bought that cool sports car you are now driving? Is a family in your immediate future? Once you decide what type of used car in Vancouver you want, what’s next?

If safety is something you consider before purchasing a car, do your research. The internet is your friend and has a lot of information from both the federal government testing and non-profit testing on the safety of different cars on the market. If you are looking at used cars in Burnaby, they will have information on those as well. There are also websites and some car dealerships that will provide a history of repairs and possible accidents in which a car may have been involved. Use all means available to you to make the most informed choice.

If you are not paying cash for your new car, how much of a car payment can you afford? How much of a down payment will you have? And have you gotten prequalified for a loan? If you have this all figured out before you walk onto a showroom floor it will save you a lot of grief. How disappointing it is to fall in love with the perfect car just to find out you can’t buy it. No car you pick after that is going to seem as good. Let the salesperson know what you can afford and be firm.

Most dealerships have websites now that will allow you to look at the stock they have available. This is likely to include both new and used cars in Vancouver on their lots. If you don’t want to buy from a dealership there are ads from local newspapers and television stations on the internet as well. All are good resources and will save you time and gas driving from car lot to car lot.

Another good resource is family and friends. Talk to them and see if anyone has had a particularly good or bad experience in purchasing a car. This may help you avoid pitfalls and may give you a good direction to go in. Buying a car, especially if it is your first, can be an emotional experience. Try not to get yourself so focused on just one particular car that you miss out on a better car or better deal. Take a friend or family member with you as a second pair of eyes and ears. They may see or hear things that you miss.

Unless money is not an issue for you, buying a new car can be a major investment. You may find that buying a new car over a used car will actually be less expensive in the long run. Many manufacturers are now offering free regular maintenance on their cars for a number of years. If you had to pay for this yourself you may decide to wait because of the cost. And by waiting you may be putting more wear and tear on the car. Take all of this into consideration before you make your final decision.

If you are ready to buy a used car in Vancouver – or are still in the research phase – we encourage you to head on down to our dealership to learn more about our used car programs and to get started with your used car buying process today! There are a few things that we can help you to learn about used cars – and there are some ways that we can help to ensure that you save a significant amount of money off of the cost of the used cars that you buy from us. Here are just a few things that we think you should know about why it may be beneficial to head to the dealer when buying your used cars in Richmond:

Financing

Once of the most important considerations on the minds of many of our used car customers is financing. Based on your financial arrangement, you can save a significant amount of money off of the cost of buying a used car – including the cost of repaying your used car loan. Our financial planners will review your budget and develop a financial solution that is uniquely suited for your needs. Based on this financial arrangement, you’ll have the best possible price for the used car – and will be able to more easily afford to buy and own it. This arrangement may include a competitive used car loan, trade-in opportunity, or even a special program that is currently going on at our dealership and can help to save you even more money!

Warranty

Our customers love the fact that we offer a warranty with every used car in Delta that we sell. We inspect every used car before we put it on the lot. However, even with this inspection, we are well aware that sometimes unexpected things can go wrong with a car. In order to help protect our customers’ investments, we back up every used car we sell with a warranty that helps to cover the cost of maintenance and service to the used car.

Selection

It’s essential that you are able to select the used car that is right for your needs – whatever those needs may be. Through our extensive used car selection process, you’ll be able to select the right used car for you – including used vans, used trucks, used sedans, and more. Come on down to see what we have in store for you!

At Regency Toyota, your Toyota Dealer in Vancouver we look forward to helping each of our customers get the best possible used cars available. Contact us today to get started with your search or for more details about our used car programs.

Every week, we sell dozens of used cars in Vancouver to customers with the expectation that those used cars will be durable enough to last for many years to come. After all, before we ever put a used car on the lot, we make sure that our experienced technicians have completely inspected the used car to ensure that it is in the best possible condition.

However, there are a few tips that we’d like to encourage our customers to become familiar with in order to ensure that they maintain their used cars as well as possible. While we can prevent and address many of the most common issues that arise with used cars, it’s always best for the life of the car if our customers are able to maintain them as well as possible on their own.

Here are a few tips that we suggest our customers follow when caring for their used cars in Vancouver:

Be a “good” driver

The definition of a good driver varies from person to person, but most of our customers would agree that a good driver is courteous to others on te road and maintains a fairly even highway speed to avoid antagonizing other drivers. When you start and slow your engine a lot – either on the highway or in city driving, you’re adding stress to the engine, transmission, and differential. You can also do some damage of the brake pedal that will decrease its life expectancy. We recommend using cruise control as often as possible and accelerating or decelerating at an even speed as much as possible.

Forget things tend to fade away

While this adage may be good for some things in life, it’s not so good for car components. If you spend an entire summer without turning on your heater, chances are good that you may have a couple of issues with your heater when winter comes. While we certainly don’t recommend blasting your heater all summer, we do recommend turning it on once or twice during the season – just to give it a primer. The same thing goes for your air conditioning, four wheel drive systems, parking brakes, and all other parts of your car. Use them to avoid losing them!

Start slow

This is especially helpful during cold weather driving – start your engine slowly to help it warm up before you take off down the road. You need to make sure the oil pumps through the entire engine before taking it off for a drive in order to improve its life and effectiveness.

Are you in the market for a used car in Richmond but are not quite sure if you are really ready to buy a used car at this time? With the economy being tricky to navigate for many people, buying a used car may really seem like a strain on your financial resources. However, it’s also important to consider the consequences of not buying a used car in Vancouver when you need one. If you are having a tough time deciding whether now is the right time or whether it would be best to wait, we have a few things that you may want to think about as you start to make your decision:

Opportunity cost

An opportunity cost is an economic term that basically means that for everything you do, there is a cost. If you choose to buy a used car in Burnaby  now, you will have to pay for the used car now. However, if you take the opportunity to wait to buy your used car, you will have to pay for the cost of waiting. Therefore, because every action that you take (or don’t take) has some sort of cost, it’s important for you to weigh these costs and determine which cost is greater.

To help you determine which opportunity cost is greater, we advise you to make a list of all of the costs associated with buying a car now. For example, you may have a more restricted budget if you need to begin paying down car loans.

Then make a list of all of the benefits that will be provided by buying a used car now. For example, you can begin to improve your credit score as you pay down your car loan, you will have reliable transportation, and you will have a solid budget that you can depend on each month. Do the same pros and cons for not buying a car as well. Compare both lists as you make your final decision about whether or not to buy.

Consider financial assistance

Many of our customers can get excellent cars when they need them thanks to our financial programs. Through our financial programs, customers can more easily afford to buy durable cars that will last for years to come – and help them get better gas mileage than their current cars. Plus, we also have a trade-in program that may be an option to help you save more money.

At Regency Toyota, your new and used car dealer in Vancouver, we look forward to helping you get the best car for your needs when the time is right for you. Contact us today to learn more about how buying a used car now is possible and may be right for you.

Are you in the market for a used car in Burnaby but aren’t sure where to begin with your used car search? Many of our customers have not been in the used car market for several years, which means that they may not be up-to-date with some of the information that is out there regarding used cars. These days, you may be surprised by the features and options that come available on many used cars that may not have been available when you were last in the used car market.

Here are 3 tips to help you make the right decisions when buying used cars – no matter how long it has been since you last bought a used car in Vancouver:

Research financing options

Many of our customers are aware that there are financing options that are available for some used car customers. However, they often believe that these options will not apply to them either because they have bad credit or simply don’t know about what the options entail. We’re happy to let all of our customers know that we provide financing opportunities for all of our customers, including those customers with good and bad credit. There are many financing options that our customers may also be able to take advantage of, such as used car loans in Vancouver, trade-in opportunities, and special programs. Contact us for details.

Research the market

Especially if it has been awhile since you last bought a car, it’s important that you take time to research which options are available in the marketplace. These options will help you to determine what features come with used cars, how you can best use those used cars for your specific needs, and more. Contact us to test drive any of the used cars on your short-list or visit our online inventory to get a good overview of what used cars are currently available and of the features included in those used cars in Richmond.

Always get a warranty

Many of our customers are surprised when we encourage them to get warranties on their used cars. They think that if a car is used, it is ineligible for a warranty. However, thanks to our warranty department, all of our customers should get warranties for their used cars that will maximize their peace of mind.

We look forward to helping you get the right used car for your needs – and making sure that you know what is available. Contact Regency Toyota today at www.regencytoyota.com to get started with your used car search!

If you are in the car buying market, then chances are good that you are looking for ways to save money when you buy your car – and get the best possible financial arrangement on the car. Our car loans in Vancouver are designed to make it easy for you to buy the right car for your needs – no matter what your budget is. Through our car loan program, you can not only get the best interest rates possible for your car loan, but you won’t be denied a car loan for reasons based on your credit.

Here are a few reasons that we think you’ll enjoy getting your car loan in Vancouver from our lenders:

We’re on-site

One of the best reasons to get your car loan from our lenders is that we are on-site. We are located right at the dealership so that you can visit with our lenders and then take a walk through the lot in order to find the right car for your budget based on your meeting with the lenders. The dealer and lender also work together in order to ensure that the car that you buy not only suits your lifestyle, but that it also suits your overall needs.

We don’t turn anyone away because of bad credit

Many of our customers have bad credit and are concerned that they may not qualify for a car loan in Richmond. Luckily, thanks to the strength of our lending program, we don’t deny a car loan to anyone based solely on their credit. We offer bad credit car loans, no credit car loans, and, of course, good credit car loans. The major differences between these loans is that with the bad credit car loans, you may have to pay more for your car loan and qualify for a higher interest rate than a borrower with perfect credit. However, we can still ensure that you will get a car loan at a rate that you can afford for as long as you need it. And – the car that you buy from us with the car loan will be safe and reliable for years to come.

Financing packages

A car loan isn’t the only financial solution we can offer to our customers. In fact, a car loan is usually only one segment of our full loan packages. The car loan usually works alongside a special offer or trade-in program in order to help further reduce the price of a car or loan payments.
